Sammy and Mike have recently begun playing at Sam's Boat in Pearland, Texas as well as the Willowbrook location in Houston.

"I love playing outdoors," said Mike. "It tends to spoil you just a bit because it's just a nice change of pace to be able to sit on the deck and play music for all ages."

Come on out and catch one of Sammy & Mike's shows (or another great area act) at one of these Sam's Boat locations.

Although this show got off to a shaky start with a few technical problems (mysterious electronic squeals, pops, etc), things finally got to rockin' in the middle of the first set. Tons of fun and lots of familiar faces, including some of the staff from Lamonte's Italian Restaurant just down the street from Watson's. Sammy's tune "You Smile" went over great and everybody applauded for Mike's "Runnin' Outa Time" but the place exploded in applause after the guys teamed up on their duo tune "Texas in the Man."

The guys want to thank everyone for coming out and participating in the show. Including the rambunctious fun-loving crew from Newfoundland that came into the club in the middle of the last set. At their special request, Sammy played and Mike sang the Garth Brooks hit "Friends in Low Places" but Mike saw that the Newfoundland crew was having such a great time he invited them to sing the chorus from their place in the audience. They did an awesome job and they really had fun with the last or lost verse of the tune that Sammy sang.

Hello to our pretty little waitress who sung the Marvin Gaye tune "Let's Get It On with Sammy.

Thanks to Alan, Patricia, Mary, Marsha, and Eddie who made the long journey all the way from Liberty County to see the show.

Jan 2, 2008 Baker Street Pub - The Woodlands The Woodlands TX USA

As each show comes and goes it seems that they just continue to be more and more fun. Hello "Bambi" and Amber! What a great dance team you guys made center stage!

Believe it or not, Sammy and Mike got to play Folsom Prisom Blues with (maybe not the one and only) Johnny Cash and he did a great job singing the lead vocals.

The guys played the four hour show in 2 sets and were visited by Mike Constable who sat-in for two songs including one of his originals.

Sherlock's Pub in The Woodlands is always fun and the guys really love the energuy from this crowd. Everyone there makes the show a success everytime.

Jan 1, 2008 CANCELLED - Baker Street Pub - Willowbrook Houston TX USA
Dec 29, 2007 Velvet Melvin - Houston Houston TX USA

If Houston were a small college town, this would be the bar where everyone knows your name: Velvet Melvin attracts a mix of young adults and college folk looking to kick back.

You can have fun here without the see-and-be-seen vibe of many clubs. "It's very casual," co-owner Joe Madden says. "There is always something going on."

The bar is on Richmond, but it's well off the strip, near Greenway Plaza.

The Velvet Melvin was once the Velvet Elvis, but trademark problems with the singer's estate forced the club to close. It reopened as Woody's Place, then changed to the Velvet Melvin.

Dec 28, 2007 Watson's House of Ales Houston TX USA

Mike, Sammy & Mitch had a great time playing for the Watson's crowd. Thanks Mark & Doug for being very active supporters :o). Watson's House of Ales is an awesome place to hang out and enjoy a variety of live music. The boys will be coming back to Watson's soon so come out and join the party!

Dec 26, 2007 Watson's House of Ales Houston TX USA

As usual, Sammy knocked 'em dead. This show was fun from start to finish. In fact, there was some concern as to whether or not there was going to be a finish because Sammy finally stopped playing at about 1:55 AM! A FIVE HOUR SHOW! Mike sat in with Sammy on a couple sets but Sammy played the entire gig and had a great time doing it.

"Sammy Hundley is such a unique and talented artist," said Mike Parrish, "and I consider myself to be very fortunate to have such a close working relationship with him. Sammy is a dedicated entertainer. Dedicated to the music but just as dedicated to delivering the show that the fans are looking for. Sammy is a class act musician, singer, songwriter and entertainer."

Thanks to all those who came out to see Sammy, you guys were just as awesome as usual and then some! Sammy, Mike & Mitch Bergen will be back at Watson's House of Ales on December 28th, 2007. The guys look forward to seeing you there!

Dec 18, 2007 Sherlock's Pub - Westheimer Road Houston TX USA

What an awesome party this was! Mike & Sammy had a blast playing Sherlock's on Westheimer and can't wait to come back.

Hello to the gentleman from England who took his copy of "Texas in the Man" back to London.

Thanks to Kevin McReynolds and his entire party for making this show completely unforgettable. The boys had a LOT of fun with you guys. Thanks for coming out and supporting the duo!

Priscilla! Hello and thanks for continuing to come out and see the guys. Thanks for the photo sent to Mike's MySpace - anyone can see that everyone was having an awesome time! The guys have made Johnny Lee's Urban Cowboy classic "Lookin' for Love" a permanent part of the Westheimer show just for you!

Keep checking the schedule - it won't be long before Mike & Sammy get to come back and see you again!

Dec 13, 2007 Velvet Melvin Houston TX USA

The show got off to a late start, due to the Houston Texans verses Denver Broncos game (31-13 Houston) but when the guys fired up there was an unexpected surprise. Houston's own Trey Clark sat in with Sammy Hundley for the first half. Trey did a few tunes from his two albums "Never Drift Home" and "Broke & Busted" and Sammy did a couple tunes from his own forthcoming album "House Full of Nothing." That was a great set and evryone had a super time.

Dec 12, 2007 Baker Street Pub - The Woodlands The Woodlands TX USA

This one started off with a bang! Lots of familiar faces making this venue one of the best we play. Thanks to everyone who continue to come out and support Texas Music! Good luck to the couple who are moving back to Indiana, thanks a bunch for havin' fun with us here in Texas!

Dec 11, 2007 Sherlock's Pub - Clear Lake Houston (Clear Lake) TX USA

Hello to the invisible blonde chick in the camouflage cap and Elizabeth. Thanks to everyone who came out to the show. You all made it a really fun time.

Dec 5, 2007 Baker Street Pub - The Woodlands The Woodlands TX USA

WOW! An acoustic duo plus a packed house equals one really great time. Thanks to Ken for blessing the crowd with his rendition of "Friends in Low Places" and for pointing out the beautiful young dancer with a "tramp stamp." Thanks to Jaded Clothing for all the requests and for wishing Happy Birthday to everybody in the world. Thanks to Rock Springs Matt for such vocal support and for turning everybody on to bums.com. What a crazy night it was at The Woodlands Baker Street Pub but it was absolutely fun. The guys will be appearing there again next week so keep checking the calendar for updates.

Dec 4, 2007 Sherlock's Pub - River Oaks Houston TX USA

Tuesday nights make for slow starts but the forward momentum came during the second set as the crowd started coming in. Thanks Shawn & Carissa for cheering us on and for Shawn's rendition of James Taylor's "Fire & Rain" with Sammy. The theme of this show was "Never leave your CDs in the truck!"

Mike & Sammy had a buncha fun and look forward to coming back to Sherlocks - River Oaks

Dec 1, 2007 81st Annual Festival of Lights Natcitoches LA USA

Sammy & Mike met a TON of awesome people in Louisiana and ended up back in Campti at the Cherokee Club watching the band "Extreme Caution." It was a completely awesome time and the guys can't wait to get back to that area.

Nov 30, 2007 KORI 104.7 FM Logansport Logansport LA USA

The SixGun crew arrived in Logansport, Louisiana, after spending the night in Center, Texas, at about 7:10 AM. Being unfamiliar with the Logansport area, Sammy, Mike & Tonya stopped at the local Dairy Queen to grab something for breakfast. Sammy and Tonya were inside the restaurant while Mike waited outside listening to Carmen Beatriz on KORI FM. Kevin Fowler came on the radio with his song "Butterbean" which was followed by Mike Parrish & SixGun's tune "Blue Jean Baby. Taylor Swift followed with her hit single "Our Song."

"I know we've had radio airplay before but this was the first time I'd ever actually gotten to hear one of our tunes on the air," said Mike. "I think November 30th, 7:28 AM, Blue Jean Baby and KORI will be etched into my memory forever. It's a very special feeling to know that we might just measure up to the standards of today's contemporary country music. It was awesome just to hear the announcement and then hear my song actually on the air."

Mike flashed the headlights of the truck into the large glass windows of the Dairy Queen and both Tonya and Sammy knew what was going on so they came outside to hear it for themselves. It was a very happy moment.

The guys made it to KORI where they met with Street Team leader Liz Grobman, who was instrumental in making KORI aware of the group's existence, and Carmen Beatriz who was extremely receptive of them immediately.

"She's a real sweetheart," said Sammy, "and we can't thank her enough for helping us out with some airtime and supporting our music the way she does. She's just a really cool lady."

Mike & Sammy opened up their guitar cases thinking that, since they were playing acoustics, they'd probably be requested to perform songs from their album like "Goin' Back to Texas," "What is Love?" "Runnin' Outa Time," or maybe "I'll Still Be Your Man," but Carmen had her own ideas and immediately requested "Texas in the Man." This tune is an electric tune and the guys had never played it on acoustic guitars but, since they had a request and they were on the air live, they stepped up to the plate and gave it their best shot. KORI is aired in Logansport but is simulcast in Mansfield, Louisiana also so that area was the first ever to hear the acoustic version of "Texas in the Man." Mike and Sammy had a lot of fun doing the acoustic version and had a couple laughs during the performance. Carmen followed that request by playing "Sunny Day" from the album and then requested the guys to do another live tune. Mike chose to do "Runnin' Outa Time" which was the first time that song had ever been aired live as well. The next tune Carmen played from the CD was "I'll Still Be Your Man." When that song concluded, Carmen chatted with the guys for a few moments and requested another live song so, following the morning's format of "a first time for everything" Mike & Sammy dove into an acoustic version of their rockabilly mover "Blue Jean Baby." A few more questions and then Mike spoke to Carmen about Sammy's forthcoming album and Mike requested Sammy to do one of his tunes, "You Smile." Carmen closed out the interview by airing "Angel Fly" from the album. Another first because, as far as anybody knows, "Angel Fly" has never been aired anywhere.

"I had a great time in Logansport, Carmen Beatriz and KORI were just spectacular. In fact, I even requested a Kevin Fowler tune, "Long Line of Losers," before we left the station, said Mike. "This is just a wonderful time in our careers and we're enjoying meeting all of these great people. We definitely hope we have an opportunity to come back and visit with Carmen and KORI again soon."

Nov 27, 2007 Sherlock's Pub - River Oaks Houston TX USA

Mike & Sammy had a really fantastic time doing the Original Showcase show. It was great to meet Victor, Pat, "the Brown-Eyed Girl and her pretty man." The guys wanted to say hey to the group that filtered in during the last half of the show requesting all the death metal. Mike & Sammy were pleased to find a happy medium delivering a new genre that Sammy coined "Death Folk." That was when the guys played a Buffett tune! All in all, Sammy & Mike enjoyed being at Sherlocks in the River Oaks area again.

Nov 20, 2007 Sherlock's Pub - Westheimer Road Houston TX USA

What a great show! Mike & Sammy had an awesome time with the Sherlock's crowd and can't wait to come back! The first set lasted a full TWO hours and everyone was having such a great time that the guys didn't really want to take a break. It didn't take long for the second set to start rockin'. The guys want to be sure to say hello to a gentleman whom they can only refer to as Mr. Dynamo (who made sure they never got thirsty (Oh man), hello to Joe the guitar man and a special hello to AMY who was Mike & Sammy's special guest toward the end of the last set doing her version of "Bobby McGee." Outstanding job Amy! Thanks to everyone who came out and made the show a great success. Mike & Sammy had a GREAT time thanks to all of you.

Nov 10, 2007 CANCELLED - Batson Oil Patch Festival Batson TX
